Digital Marketing & Entrepreneurship Teacher

Overview:

Hyde County Schools seeks an innovative and dedicated Digital Marketing & Entrepreneurship Teacher to join our vocational education team. This role is pivotal in preparing students for the fast-paced digital economy and instilling an entrepreneurial mindset that encourages creativity and problem-solving. Ideal candidates will possess a blend of practical experience and educational understanding, with a passion for teaching young minds about the potential of digital marketing and entrepreneurial ventures. This position will serve both the Mattamuskeet and Ocracoke School Campus.

 

Responsibilities:

• Design and teach high school students a comprehensive digital marketing and entrepreneurship curriculum.
• Incorporate practical lessons on social media marketing, SEO/SEM, email marketing, online advertising, and web analytics into teaching.
• Guide students in developing their entrepreneurial projects, from concept to execution and review.
• Stay updated with the latest digital marketing trends and tools, integrating these into the curriculum to ensure relevance and engagement.
• Collaborate with other faculty to integrate digital marketing concepts into different subject areas.
• Assess student progress through projects, assignments, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
• Facilitate a classroom environment conducive to learning and suitable for the needs of students with varying backgrounds.
• Participate in faculty committees and communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and potential.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Marketing, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification for the state of North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Prior teaching experience and a strong digital marketing and entrepreneurship foundation are preferred.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students in learning activities.
• Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Must be physically able to operate various equipment, including computers, copiers, etc. 
• Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

• It requires the ability to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, evaluations, policies, etc., using prescribed formats. It also requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, as well as to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. 
• Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow oral and written instructions. 
• Must communicate effectively and efficiently in various technical or professional languages, including medical, legal, and counseling terminology. 
• Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. 
• Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergencies.

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Salary: North Carolina State Certified Salary Schedule
